Reflections 2022-2023

Reflections Art Recognition Program

The Reflections Art Program is a nationally run art contest that allows students of all ages and abilities to explore their own ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and grow through their involvement with the arts. Students are celebrated and recognized for their artistic ingenuity in interpreting a theme in a personal  and meaningful way. Each year students from across the nation submit ideas to be considered for the theme

The 2023 - 2024 school year theme is:

“I am Hopeful Because...”

Students work in the medium of their choice and will submit their work in one of the following categories (follow links for category specific entry requirements):

Submissions due on or before November 20th 2023.

Submission Process

Each student must submit digital images, videos, or files of their entry along with the submission form to reflections@briarcrestpta.org. The entry form must be completely filled out, including artist statement and signature line. The artist statement is just as important to the judging process as the art itself, please explain clearly why you chose to create your art in response to this year’s theme. Remember to spend less time explaining what you created and more time explaining why.

Following the submission deadline date all works will be judged in their division; primary (K - 2nd), intermediate (3rd - 5th), and special artist. Advancing works will move on to the district level (Council) for an opportunity to advance to the state level. Even though we are accepting digital submissions please hold on to your work, we'd love to showcase your work at the upcoming district celebration.

A district celebration for all participants is tentatively planned for January 10th, 2023, more information to follow.

For more information about the program, visit PTA.org/home/programs/Reflections. If that feels like a lot, follow our step by step instructions on how to participate in the National PTA Reflections Art Recognition Program.

We look forward to seeing your work!
